All About Lisa McBride’s Disney Side!
My name is Lisa McBride and I am a 50 year old wife to a loving husband, mother of two beautiful children and two cute fur babies, and mother-in-law to a wonderful son-in-love. Our first family trip to Walt Disney World was in 1998. Little did we know that we’d be hooked and that we would return year after year.
We now have 20+ trips under our belts, have spent nearly 200 nights at Walt Disney World and cruised on the Disney Dream. We have also ventured offsite and gone to SeaWorld and Universal Studios. During our trips, we have celebrated many birthdays, anniversaries and even holidays. Over the years, I’ve traveled with a baby, a toddler, pre-teens, teenagers, adults, a Senior, extended family and first timers.
We are a pretty lively bunch! We like to leave our cares behind and just be plain old silly while at Walt Disney World!
My Hobbies and Businesses
In my “real life”, I am a paralegal at a law office that specializes in family law and a co-owner of a cabinet shop which my husband and I own and operate. I also own On Your Merry Way Travel and specialize in booking Disney trips. In my spare time, I like spending time with family, working in the garden, cooking and, of course, plan our next Disney trip. To fund our Disney obsession, I sew and sell my mostly Disney themed products in my Etsy shop: ShopMickeystoontown.
My Favorite Character
My favorite character is Tinkerbell and, in fact, my boss actually calls me Tinkerbell. He says that I am feisty and determined just like Tink.
Favorite Disney Movie
I’m not sure that I can choose just one Disney movie as my favorite since there are so many good ones to choose from. Let’s see, I guess that I’d have to choose “The Princess and the Frog“ since it’s set in my home State of Louisiana and I have actually been to many of the places referred to in the movie.
Favorite Disney Destination
My favorite Disney destination would be Walt Disney World.
My Favorite Park
The Magic Kingdom is my favorite Disney park.
Lisa McBride’s Favorite Song
Hakuna Matata is one of my favorite Disney songs. It’s the motto that I try to live by each and every day.

Family Traditions
My family and I have several “traditions” when it comes to our Walt Disney World vacations. One of those is to always take silly PhotoPass pictures on attractions like Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Dinosaur.
New to Us
Another is to find at least one “new to us” thing to do on every trip to Walt Disney World. We’ve experienced, among others, Cirque du Soleil, Kirk Franklin Presents House of Blues Gospel Brunch, Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party, the two water parks, both mini-golf courses, Disney Quest, rented surrey bikes and had our silhouettes done. We have had excellent food at many of the restaurants and laughed and danced at Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Luau.
No trip to Walt Disney World Resort would be complete without our traditional last dinner at the Crystal Palace.
I am honored to be part of the Magical DIStractions team and love sharing my family’s experiences with you. I’ve done reviews of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, numerous restaurants, attractions, hidden “gems” at Walt Disney World and write the Where in Walt Disney World Can I Find series.
I’ve also provided tips on how to travel with senior citizens, how to make requests on your resort reservation and where you can find the Streetmosphere performers. Want to know what ARE hidden Mickeys and where to find them? I wrote about that too.
Should you have to do laundry while on vacation, I gave you all the dirty details on how to work the new machines and the fantastic app that allows you to do laundry and enjoy your resort at the same time.
The links that I provided above and in the previous sentences are just a few that I’ve written and some even have links to other articles within them. It gives me such joy and a sense of accomplishment to write these articles and to share some tips with the readers. Writing is also what helps me fight the vacation blues while I anxiously countdown to our next!
