Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine is a limited-time event first seen during the 2014 Star Wars Weekends. It will return in 2015, again at Hollywood & Vine which is in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The meal is an out-of-this-world experience that’s perfect for all Star Wars fans and is held from May 4 through June 14 during the dinner hours of 4:15pm to 8:00pm. Hollywood & Vine is decorated for the special meal, food is re-named according to theme, and many favorite Disney characters appear, dressed in Star Wars attire.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by Chip ‘n’ Dale dressed as Ewoks for a photo opportunity. They are lots of fun! The atmosphere is all Star Wars, and familiar tunes from the films play in the background. While dining Jedi Mickey, Princess Leia Minnie, Darth Vadar Goofy and Stormtrooper Donald roam throughout the restaurant, stopping at each table to greet guests and take photos. This is a wonderful alternative to standing in long lines in the hot Florida sun trying to meet these very popular characters during Star Wars Weekends.
The buffet features themed menu options, such as Skywalker Ranch Chicken, Princess Leia’s Penne Pasta, Tusken Raider Chicken, Salacious Crumb’s Crusted Pork, and Mos Eisley Barbecued Meatballs. A Jedi Council Carving Station features turkey and strip loin. Accompanying items include Cantina Corn, Greedo’s Green Beans with Garlic and Tomato, and Naboo Bean Casserole. Palpatine’s Pasta Station offers a variety of create-your-own pasta dishes. Young Padawans can enjoy the kids’ buffet area which includes items like Wicket the Ewok’s Macaroni and Cheese and Chewbacca’s Chicken Tenders. The dessert buffet features the signature chocolate fountain of Hollywood & Vine, along with special Star Wars treats.
At each table, a paper featuring a red side and blue side can be folded into a lightsaber, allowing guests to choose blue for Jedi Mickey/Princess Leia Minnie (the Alliance) or red for Stormtrooper Donald/Darth Vadar Goofy (the Empire). This was a fun addition to the dining experience, and many lightsaber battles took place during the meal.
Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine at Hollywood & Vine is $57.99 per adult and $34.99 per child, ages 3-9. Tax is included but gratuity is not. Photos with Ewoks Chip ‘n’ Dale are included in the price as well. This meal is two table service credits if using the Disney Dining Plan. Advanced Dining Reservations are highly recommended, as this meal is extremely popular and books quickly. Dining reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE or checking online availability.
DIStracted Tip – If this meal is not available for a specific time during your vacation, be persistent in calling and checking for newly-opened times. People cancel dining reservations all the time, and this means openings for others!
Our family greatly enjoyed this character dining experience. The food was tasty and plentiful, and meeting all of the Disney characters in Star Wars attire was wonderful. I really enjoyed the time saved from having to stand in long lines with my two little ones to meet these characters! The quality of the meal and convenience of character meetings were worth the cost.
