Sixty-two (62) years ago (1953) Peter Pan, Walt Disney’s 14th animated feature film, was released in the United States at the Roxy Theatre in New York City. The film was based on James M. Barrie’s 1904 novel, Peter Pan.
Peter Pan is my favorite Disney film! I love everything about it! I cannot imagine a life without “Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust!” Actually, “You Can Fly” was a huge inspiration for me in starting Magical DIStractions. I had to take a leap of faith in walking away from my job, my set income and everything I had grown accustomed to. I debated for a long time about whether or not I could actually start a website. One day I started singing “There’s a Never Land waiting for you, where all your happy dreams come true, every dream that you dream will come true, when there’s a smile in your heart, there’s no better time to start, think of all the joy you’ll find, when you leave the world behind, and bid your cares good-bye, YOU CAN fly! YOU CAN fly! YOU CAN fly!” It is funny how little things like that can speak VOLUMES to you! I knew then that it was time.

Here I am seven months later with an amazing team of 17 staff members, 14 Guest Writers, and over 50 photographers! We average 7,000 viewers per day. This site just launched on September 2, 2014! Prior to that, our presence was known solely through social media. The bottom line is I am blessed. I know without the grace of God, the help of my many DIStracted Team members, friends, family, readers, and inspiration from Peter Pan, none of this would have been possible! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Stay DIStracted my friends!
