Guests are transported into the animated world of Radiator Springs as soon as they walk into Cars Land. This brightly lit land has been delighting Disney’s California Adventure Park guests since the day it opened, and Disney Imagineers are looking to bring even more joy to Cars-loving guests!
At the end of the operating day on February 16, 2015, Luigi’s Flying Tires will close as our favorite Fiat departs for a vacation to his home country of Italy to visit with family. When he returns, his Casa della Tires will reopen as a completely new attraction in early 2016. The attraction will feature a new ride system and ride vehicles. (Disney Parks Blog)
While, Disney Parks hasn’t released any real information about the new attraction, MiceChat reported that the new ride will feature a “fleet of 1950’s Fiat cars, ostensibly Luigi’s extended family visiting from the old country, will spin and twirl around the floor in a choreographed musical production number in the new ride tentatively called “Luigi’s Festival of the Dance”.”
Now that Luigi’s Flying Tires has officially “temporarily” closed (sniff, sniff), we would like to pay homage to this attraction by having a little giveaway. We ask that you please share your favorite photographs from this attraction or from Disney California Adventure over the years. We will choose our favorite photograph and send the winner this official Disney pin. Photos can be posted on our Facebook page or on Twitter @MagicalDIStract and using the hashtags #DIStracted and #LuigisTires.
