Are you familiar with #DisneySide? Earlier this year Disney accepted applications from individuals who wanted to host a “Disney Side @Home Celebration.” This was my first year to apply, so naturally I was thrilled to learn I was chosen to be a hostess! As a result I received free products in order to host a celebration. Imagine the opportunity to plan and play at an “official” Disney party in my own home!
As soon as my box of goodies arrived I was over the moon. Just look at all of the fun inside! The celebration kit included decorations, games, party favors, recipes and more.
The next step was to decide on a theme since I received one of the “no themed” boxes. I have always wanted to participate in the 24 hour #DisneySide event at Walt Disney World so my 8 year old daughter (Taylor) and I decided on an all-night slumber party. We invited her closest friends and celebrated our #DisneySide from dinner to breakfast! As much as I love my daughter and her rowdy group of princesses, I knew I wasn’t equipped for the full 24 hours (so we opted on 15 hours of FUN instead!).
Our party food was simple. Since I was pulling an all-nighter with these girls we started with pizza, from none other than Pizza Planet. Okay, I admit the pizza was actually from Little Caesars, but for all intents and purposes, we dined at Pizza Planet! (That’s my Toy Story and I’m sticking to it.) As the girls loaded up on pizza we played our first party game – Disney Quote and Attraction Match-Up!
The girls took this challenge seriously! Congratulations to Caroline for getting the most quotes correct!
The next game we played was the Disney Character Word Search. Again, another serious challenge for this group of girls! The girls literally spent over an hour on this one!
After the first set of games were completed it was time for some Princess fun! The girls played princess dress-up.
If you have been following my blog you already know my daughter is a princess in her own right. However, posing for princess photos is not exactly her forte! Flashback to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique …
Taylor so graciously participated in the group photo dressed as Megara (Hercules), one of my favorite Disney characters! Megara made an appearance only because she couldn’t locate her Darth Vader costume.
Dress-up turned into hours of squealing and playing! After we settled down in our PJs for the night it was time to bake a cake. The girls helped me mix the colors, bake the cake and most importantly DECORATE! So. Much. Fun!
We ate cake around 10:30 p.m. and settled down with a quiet Disney movie … yeah, right! The girls were so hopped up on sugar they could barely sit still! They played throughout the night while this Mom slept. Thank goodness for two-story houses!
Naturally the girls were wide awake at 4:00 a.m. Where does their energy come from? Breakfast consisted of Mickey Mouse Waffles and Disney Foodles, compliments of Crunch Pak! Thank you Crunch Pak!
After breakfast the girls finished up the games by playing DisneySide Bingo and Pin the Smile on Mickey.
This tired mom made it 15 hours and had a blast doing it! Thank you for this fabulous opportunity! Perhaps I will have what it takes to participate in the upcoming 24 hour event! I would like to extend a huge thank you to my #DisneySide @Home Celebration partners, including: Disney Parks, BSM Media, MomSelect, Leanne Jakubowski, Jamie Langdon and Maria Bailey, Create Memories You Keep #CMYK, @MyPrintly; All, #all-laundry, @all-laundry; Wisk, @Wisk Deep Clean, #wisk; and Snuggle, @snuggle-bear, #Snuggle.
