For a little over a month during the year, Disney California Adventure holds a festival of delicious proportions. The 2017 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival hosts food kiosks, special demonstrations and events, and even a cute junior chef experience.
California Dreamin’ of Food!
As a Disneyland Resort local, I dream of this event all year. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful California-inspired cuisine there is! This year at the Food & Wine Festival, the kiosks had so many yummy options. We started at the Welcome Center to look at the festival map and strategically plan where we wanted to eat and visit. We also picked up a complimentary passport that you can get stamped at each kiosk.
We then quickly found our way to the kiosk we had been dying to find: Bacon Twist! I love bacon; I could eat it all the time. And I was dying to try everything at the kiosk! We decided this time to just go for the Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese and the Maple Bacon Whoopie Pie. They were both so good! The mac n cheese had crispy bacon and BBQ onion straws. The whoopee pie just melted in my mouth, seriously so yummy, I wish I had the recipe!
One of the other kiosks that we were looking at was Garlic Kissed – because garlic! I mean look at that amazing menu!
Fun for all ages
As I was looking at the website to find what events were going on during the Food & Wine Festival, I saw so many yummy things! Also, some of the well-known chefs include Robert Irvine, Cat Cora and Guy Fieri. Every Sunday is “Sweet Sunday” with a dessert demonstration by a celebrity chef. I know you are probably wondering, where’s the wine part of this? There are kiosks with beer and wine, you can attend a Winemaker or Brewmaster Beer Dinner, and there are Wine or Beer and Spirits Education and Tasting Seminars. One thing I knew my toddler would enjoy is watching the Jr. Chef experience. This is a fun cooking type experience complete with Goofy and a yummy treat at the end! I knew with my son’s food allergies, he couldn’t participate but he sure did enjoy watching!
Food & Wine Festival Merchandise
Is shopping more your thing? Check out some of this awesome merchandise! They also had some local food and product companies that had items available for purchase. We got some awesome nut-free sauce that we can’t wait to try!
This blog wouldn’t be complete without mentioning something that is not necessarily part of the Food & Wine Festival, but deliciously life changing – PINEAPPLE (aka Dole Whip) cotton candy!!! Best of all, it’s made in a nut-free facility and safe for my little guy!
You still have time to check out the 2017 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, it runs through April 16th!
