The Parent Trap, starring Academy Award winner Hayley Mills and erm.. Hayley Mills, was released 54 years ago today on June 21, 1961. The film is about twins who actively go out to reunite their divorced parents in the most hilarious of manners.
The Parent Trap was nominated for two Academy Awards (one for sound and one for film editing). The film was made into a TV show, saw three (3) television sequels and was remade in 1998 with Lindsey Lohan playing the role of the twins, Susan Evers and Sharon McKendrick.
The film featured songs “For Now, For Always” and “Let’s Get Together”, both written by the famous Sherman brothers.
