HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our beloved Mickey Mouse. Created November 18, 1928, Mickey has delighted the young and the old for the past 86 years.

Originally voiced by Walt Disney (1928- 1947) this little mouse with his white gloves, little red shorts and yellow shoes has become an American icon with worldwide status. He was the creation of Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks and appeared in a test screening called Paper Planes. His first appearance on screen was in Steamboat Willie the beautiful black and white animation one of the first sound cartoons to be created.

Mickey has appeared in over 130 animations including The Band Wagon (1935) and Fantasia (1940). He was also the first cartoon character to appear on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on November 18, 1978 (located at 6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA).

In 2009 Disney began to rebrand our cheerful mouse into a more mischievous and adventurous character which is evidenced with the video game Epic Mickey.
