On Friday, April 22nd, 2016 as the world celebrates Earth Day, Walt Disney World will be celebrating with a special party at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The Earth Day party is being presented by Disneynature and will feature special features including a sand sculpture showcasing the latest Disney film, The Jungle Book.
Highlights of the Earth Day party at Animal Kingdom will include animal-care team members, animal educators, and conservation experts sharing their knowledge with guests. They will talk about the care the animals receive and how Disney works to save endangered species. Guests can also watch the animals being fed.
Additionally, there will be unique photo opportunities as PhotoPass photographers will have Earth Day-themed props and photo frames available in Discovery Island. Also, the rarely seen Jiminy Cricket will be doing meet and greets from April 17-23 at Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
Lastly, Joe Rohde, Walt Disney Imagineer and Portfolio Creative Executive, will be signing copies of his newest artwork, created for the Disney Conservation Fund “Reverse the Decline” initiative. He will also be signing the Disney Conservation Fund coffee table book he helped produce. The Disney Conservation Fund will get 100 percent of the profits from the book sales. Mr. Rohde will be at Discovery Trading Company from 1-2pm. Guests will need to get a wristband to participate in the signing.
So, if you have a trip scheduled to Walt Disney World in Florida this week, make sure to stop by the Earth Day party on Friday and please share your photos! We would love to see them!
