This summer, Adventures by Disney launched their Danube River cruise to rave reviews. In 2017, Adventures by Disney will also offer family friendly river cruises down the Rhine River. In October 2017, a touch of the Epcot Food & Wine Festival will come to the Rhine with Adventures by Disney newest vacation: a Food and Wine River Cruise!  This adult only adventure is designed for foodies and includes Adventures by Disney’s legendary VIP treatment .

The Ship and Itinerary

The river cruise will be held aboard the AmaKristina, a new riverboat custom built by AmaWaterways with Adventures by Disney. This exclusive itinerary will depart on October 21, 2017. It will sail for 7 nights through Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The tasty tour begins in Basel, Switzerland where guests will board the AmaKristina. The adventure continues through Strasbourg, France, Speyer, Rüdesheim and Colgone, Germany, and ends in Amsterdam.

Exclusive Onboard Epicurean Experiences

Disney’s Culinary Director, John State, and Master Sommelier, Brian Koziol, will join this unique sailing. Brian Koziol is one of only 230 Master Sommliers in the world! Onboard, State and Koziol will host a Tasting of the Rhine as well as several other fun food and wine experiences. Indulge in a Swiss Fondue welcome reception. Or join a Frühschoppen (the tradition of drinking beer before noon) with beer, sausages and pretzels. Watch how “spaghetti” ice cream is made or take part in an onboard cocktail workshop.

Food and Wine River Cruise Voyage Highlights

There will be plenty to savor in the towns along the way as well! First, a tour in Riquewihr, France features a sausage and French macaron tasting. Next, sip Alasatian wine at a local vineyard. Then, discover the medieval wine basements of Cave Historique des Hospices. In addition, you can experience wine tasting and vineyard tours in Germany, a chocolate making workshop, and a Cologne brewery/pub crawl. Finally, top off this amazing adventure with a cheese demonstration at Zaanse Schans in Holland and a Heineken Brewery Factory tour!
