“With a wave of my stick, that should do the trick.” The famous words spoken by Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother become reality when you step into her salon, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where Fairy Godmothers-in-Training are ready to transform your little princess into her favorite Disney Princess.
DIStracted Tip: Not to be left out, your little prince can also be transformed into a dashing knight, complete with sword and shield.
At the Walt Disney World Resort, you can find the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in two locations; one inside Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom park and the other in Downtown Disney Marketplace. Your child can choose to be transformed into one of many Disney Princesses including: Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella, Tinker Bell, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida. There are three packages to choose from; the Crown Package ($59.95), the Courtyard Package ($94.95) and the Castle Package ($194.95), all of which include hairstyling, makeup, nails and a princess sash and bag. However, the Castle Package includes a costume with accessories and souvenir photos.
DIStracted Tip: Be sure to make reservations ahead of your trip (up to 180 days before your vacation) as the Boutique is very popular.
On our trip, my little princess was celebrating her fourth birthday and decided that she wanted to be transformed into Ariel. From the moment we stepped into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, it really did feel like you were in a royal boutique and all the staff went out of their way to treat my daughter like a real princess, even addressing her as “your highness.” After my daughter put on her Ariel costume, we were escorted to her personal Fairy Godmother-in-Training, who would make my daughter’s transformation complete.
DIStracted Tip: Whether you purchase a costume, or bring your own, a changing room will be provided so that your princess can get into her chosen princess attire before the transformation.
Once my daughter chose one of the four hairstyle options, the process began. The Fairy Godmother-in-Training provided a great narration of each product being used, and related it to Ariel, such as using “jellyfish gel” to mold her hair. Then, a second Fairy Godmother-in-Training came over to apply my daughter’s makeup from her individual makeup palate. She also applied tiny face jewels to add some bling to the look. And to cap it all off, she painted my daughter’s nails in a shimmery gold nail polish, which delighted her to no end!
DIStracted Tip: The makeup palate as well as the remainder of the face jewels will be provided to you in your souvenir princess bag at the end of your session, so your child can recreate the fun at home.
After my daughter’s transformation was completed, the Fairy Godmother-in-Training turned my daughter around to admire her new look in the mirror. She was absolutely thrilled with her Ariel makeover, as was the rest of the family. This was truly an amazing experience for her, and I highly recommend booking a trip to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for your princess’s special day!
