If you’ve been to Walt Disney World in the last 2 years then I’m sure you’ve walked through the New Fantasyland and seen Beast’s castle, most likely with a line out the door. This seems to be one of the hottest places to eat in Magic Kingdom, which isn’t surprising. Who wouldn’t want to eat in a castle?
We tried to get a reservation for dinner at Be our Guest but had no luck so we decided to do the quick service. I didn’t care how long the line was, we were waiting. Lucky for us, the line looked long but we really didn’t wait for more than 15 minutes. When you enter the castle you are greeted by Suits of Armor lining the hallway (listen closely and you may hear them whispering to each other). You continue down the hallway to the area where you will order your food. For lunch, there are touchscreen computers where your party will order. There are also cast members on hand to help you with any dietary requests, help with orders, etc. Once you place your order you will receive a “rose”. The rose contains an RFID chip that you will place on your table so cast members know where to deliver your food.
There are 3 dining areas, the Grand Ballroom, the Rose Gallery, and the West Wing. You will find the rose safely protected in the west wing, snow falling outside the windows of the ballroom, and Beast and Belle dancing the night away in the Rose gallery.
Your food will arrive in a covered rolling cart, served on glassware and not on plastic like a typical quick service location. The menu consists of things like Tuna Nicoise Salad, Braised Pork, Quinoa Salad, and an assortment of cupcakes and cream puffs.
*I have to apologize in advance for the horribly dark pictures. One day I may learn to use a flash correctly! ha!
I ordered the Croque Monsieur. It was a delicious blend of Carved Ham, Gruyere cheese, and Béchamel sauce on toasted bread. Served with Pomme Frites.
My husband and Mother in Law both had Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich, served on a warm baguette with horseradish sour cream and Pomme Frites.
My kids both had the Macaroni with marinara.
For dessert we had the Passion fruit cream puff, Lemon Meringue cupcake, Chocolate cupcake and strawberry cream cheese cupcake.
Personally, the Croque Monsieur was good but the Carved prime chuck roast beef sandwich was better. The kids weren’t too impressed with the macaroni but we didn’t realize at the time that it had marinara and neither of them really care for marinara. The desserts were delicious!
This restaurant is a nice break from traditional quick service food of Burgers and fries. I would definitely recommend it!
