In May, Disney’s Magic Kingdom had its annual 24-hour event. I knew I wanted to start that day off with a good meal so my hubby and I made reservations for Be Our Guest. You can preorder your meal on the My Disney Experience app but I couldn’t get my husband to decide what he wanted so we ordered once we arrived at the restaurant. I will say, it was a bit of a mess to find a table. Not that there weren’t open tables, but there were no clean ones. After standing around for a few minutes I finally asked a Cast Member if they could clean one for us.
Once we got our seat, we waited about 15 minutes for our food to arrive.
First up, Pastries!
All of these were good (especially the Danish with the fruit filling)! YUM!
I ordered the Open Faced Bacon Egg and Cheese, a fresh baguette, brie cheese, roma tomatoes, arugula, and poached eggs. I really enjoyed this but I do wish it was a little less bread. There was more bread than anything else! Everything was cooked beautifully though. (I generally judge a restaurant on how well they can cook an egg).
My husband ordered the Croque Madame, an open faced ham sandwich with a fried egg, gruyere cheese, and béchamel sauce. He really enjoyed this but did say he wished there was more sauce. Of course, you can never have too much Béchamel or Hollandaise!
We enjoyed this breakfast. Was it worth $20 a piece? Maybe not, but it was good food and filling.
DIStracted Tip: Make your reservation for this breakfast at your 180 day mark. Disney Dining Plan is accepted as a quick service meal. Reservations can now be made past October 4, 2015 since breakfast is now a permanent fixture at this restaurant.
