Disney has released more information about the new hard ticket event “Disney After Hours” that will take place on select nights at Magic Kingdom.
Dates: April 14, 21, & 28 and May 5, 8, 12, 19
Cost: $149 plus tax per Guest
We now know that Guests will be able to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 7:00 P.M with a “Disney After Hours” ticket. With scheduled park closing at either 10:00 P.M. or 11:00 P.M. this gives guests 6-7 hours of park time when entering at 7:00 P.M.
April 28 and May 5, 2016: 10:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M.
April 14 & 21 and May 8, 12, & 19, 2016: 11:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.
DIStracted Tip: Tickets may be purchased by calling (407) 827-7185 or your travel agent.
There will be select rides opening such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and others. Guests will also be able to take advantage of the extra hours to meet with select characters including Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall.
Guests will be able to enjoy ice cold bottled drinks and ice cream novelties at carts throughout the park, all included in the ticket price!
For heartier fare, Casey’s Corner will be open to Guests. Guests needing a quick pick me up will be able to find Starbucks Coffee and other specialty drinks at the Main Street Bakery.
We are Disney Vacation Club members and attended the “25 Years and Beyond” Bash earlier this year and this is almost the exact same set up they had. If they keep the tickets to a minimum, the crowds are definitely smaller than your typical Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
So, armed with the new information, is this exclusive event something you would take advantage of for the extra cost?

As an AP holder, I can’t justify the cost for 3 extra hours.

I do not have APs, & it still doesn’t appeal to me. It costs more than a day in the park, but less is open, am I correct on this?
Renee Virata says
Liz, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! From what we have gathered, you are correct. Only selected attractions will be open during the Disney After Hours event.
