Hold on to your heads–Trader Sam is putting down roots at the Polynesian Village Resort!
Despite recent rumors, it appears guests will have to wait a bit longer to imbibe at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. The Disney Parks Blog announced a soft opening for today (March 28th), with an official opening date slated for late April.
Much like its West Coast counterpart at the Disneyland Resort, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto will offer two seating options: guests can chose to sip a cocktail in the South Seas themed lounge or nibble on small bites and enjoy views of the marina and Seven Seas Lagoon on Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace.
It seems Trader Sam and his crew have concocted several tasty libations, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, for guests. Some of the creations are transplants from the West Coast; however, the Grog Grotto will also feature unique drinks including the Polynesian Pearl, Nautilus, Castaway Crush, Tahitian Torch and the Dark & Stormy Tropical. All the drinks will be available in collectible Tiki mugs.
If guests are looking to nosh on something, Trader Sam’s got them covered! Small bites include old favorites but also feature unique items including kalua pork tacos, pan-fried dumplings and the namesake Headhunter Sushi Roll.
This new experience is definitely on my must-see list for my upcoming trip. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development!
