No trip to the Disneyland Resort would be complete for me without a trip to Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney. Named after the small town in Missouri where Walt Disney lived as boy, this old fashioned candy shop is a sight to see.
Even though they have chocolate dipped everything, as well as bulk candy, sour powder, popcorn and cookies, I have to get a caramel apple. Even narrowing it down to that, I’m still left with sometimes as many as a dozen choices. They have character apples, like Jack Skellington and Mike Wazowski and apples with all sorts of different toppings like nuts, mini m & ms and more. There are often holiday themed apples and a gourmet apple of the month which has been delicious concoctions like Banana Split and Chocolate Peanut Butter Caramel. My choice tends to be Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse apple. Then I get a chocolate dipped caramel apple with chocolate covered marshmallow ears!
As much as I love eating the apple I like watching them being made just as much. Outside the store is a giant picture window. I feel like a kid wanting to press my face against it and watch in awe as they make all of the confectionery treats. I really think this should be considered an attraction, although maybe not a Fastpass one. On your next trip, make sure to put Marceline’s Confectionery on your list of must dos!. As always, I’d be honored to help you plan that trip to the Disneyland Resort and beyond!
