On a cooler day at Disney’s California Adventure one of our favorite lunch or dinner stops is the Pacific Wharf Café. Located with plenty of seating right on the water of the Pacific Wharf area, it’s the perfect spot to take a break and people watch. Pacific Wharf Cafe is known for serving soups in a Boudin’s Bread Bowl.
DIStracted Tip: For a free sample of that famous San Francisco sourdough, take the Boudin’s Bakery tour located right next door.
The menu includes salads, sandwiches, kids’ Power Packs and toddler meals, but our favorite is the Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl. The soup offerings change, but typically you will find a seasonal soup, broccoli cheddar and clam chowder. At least one of the options is always vegetarian. I prefer to order my soup on the side instead of having them ladle it inside the bread bowl. I feel like I get a little more soup this way and besides, the “mini” sourdough loaf is quite large, so this way I can take half of it with me for a snack later. At a price of right around $10.50 I think it’s a great value for the amount of food.
For dessert there are Mickey cookies, rice crispy treats, brownies and cupcakes. I’m often too full of bread for dessert, but I do like a little something sweet at the end of my meal.
DIStracted Tip: If you’re like me and just want a “smackeral” of something sweet, head to over Ghiradelli for a free chocolate sample!
