After rumors swirling for days now the Disneyland App is now available! Yesterday, Disney launched the Disneyland App for Android and Apple products.
This new app is different than the My Disney Experience app for Walt Disney World Resort. Just some of the features include linking annual passes to your phone for entry into the parks, wait times for rides and characters, and even booking dining reservations.
Once the app is downloaded to your device it gives you the chance to sign into your Disneyland account. This will automatically link any annual passes associated with your account onto your device. Guest will be able to use the linked annual pass to enter the parks but the pass on your device will not work for discounts or FastPasses. This is also where you can buy tickets for Disneyland Resort.
Along the top of the screen users can choose between a variety of choices including:
- Attractions
- Characters
- Dining
- Restrooms
- Photopass
- Entertainment
- Events and Tours
- Guest Services
- Hotels
- Recreation
- Shops
- Spa
When choosing attractions it will show you on a map the location of each attraction along with the most up-to-date wait times for rides. This app should give you the most accurate wait times because they are the official wait times from Disneyland unlike other apps that rely on user input.
Just like with the attractions tab, choosing any of the other tabs will show you locations of each item on the map of the entire Disneyland Resort area.
When choosing the dining tab it will show you each restaurant located throughout the resort area, and gives you the option of booking your dining reservation by taking you to the Disneyland Resort website. You can even book same-day reservations for some restaurants.
I have yet to use it while in the Parks, but so far this app gets an A+ in my book based on everything it offers!
Since its debut a few days ago, many are speculating about whether this means MagicBands will be making their way into the Disneyland Parks in the near future…
