Does your family contain a sports fanatic? If so, then Walt Disney World has the perfect resort! My family likes to switch up the resorts we stay in during our Walt Disney World Resort vacations, and this last trip we decided to stay at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, and it was a home run for our family!
I remembered staying at the All-Star Sports Resort back when I was a kid, and my favorite memory was the larger-than-life sports equipment that decorated the resort. It was no less impressive as an adult, and my 4 year old was blown away by the giant football helmets! The resort has five different sports themed room areas–basketball, baseball, football, tennis, and surfing. The kids were totally entertained just walking around the different areas of the resort and taking in all the sights. We enjoyed looking for our favorite teams’ pennants at the tops of the buildings, and my girls even jumped in on a tennis match with Donald and his nephews–Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Our accommodations were in the baseball themed “Home Run Hotel” area of the resort. Being a Value Resort, our room included two double beds, and a room slightly smaller than the moderate resorts. The room size did not make much of a difference to us, since our children are small, and because we do not spend much time in our room while at Walt Disney World. A refrigerator and coffee maker were also included in the room. The only drawback was that the room was in need of some updating, and hopefully, Disney has something planned soon, but it did not take away from our enjoyment of the resort itself.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is home to two pools–the main pool has a totally gnarly surf theme and is lined with giant surfboards. There’s a kiddie pool nearby for little ones to splash in. We spent most of our time at the Grand Slam Pool since it was just downstairs from our room. It was shaped like a baseball diamond, and had a Goofy fountain in the middle which squirts water out into the pool. We had a great time splashing and cooling off.

AS Sports Food Court
Bus transportation is available from in front of the main building to all four parks as well as to the Downtown Disney/Disney Springs area. Also in the main building at the resort, you can grab a bite at the End Zone Food Court. The food court was set up in different counter service stations. The Specialty Shop serves sandwiches and soups. I ordered the Turkey and Muenster on Focaccia, and it was delicious! My kiddos and husband decided to order from The Grill Shop which offers fan favorites such as create your own burgers, hot dogs, or chicken sandwiches. There is also a pizza station with different pizza selections along with a create your own pasta option. The End Zone Food Court also serves up a variety of breakfast items for early risers looking to fuel up before hitting the parks. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here and counts as a counter service meal.
All in all, we had a fabulous stay and our crowd went wild for Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort!
