One of the best perks of staying on the Walt Disney World Resort property is Disney’s Magical Express. Guests who fly into Orlando International Airport (commonly referred to by it’s IATA airport code MCO) heading towards WDW have the luxury of using this unique shuttle service.
When you book your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and add your flight information to your My Disney Experience profile, Disney will take care of the rest. About a month before your vacation, you will receive what many Disney Parks enthusiasts refer to as “Mickey Mail.” This packet contains information about your flight and your traveling party.
Disney has recently updated the look of the Magical Express packet.
DIStracted Tip: Make sure that your flight information on this form matches the information from your airline. Call 1-866-599-0951 immediately if there is any discrepancies.
You will want to hang on to this valuable packet and bring it along with you. It has a lot of wonderful information that will help you prepare for your trip and also help navigate the airport once you arrive. This is very helpful if you have never been to MCO before. It’s a rather large airport and this map will help you arrive to the bus loading area.
The BEST part of this wonderful service is that you don’t have to think about your luggage! Thanks to these wonderful yellow tags, your luggage is immediately routed to the Disney Resort that you will be staying at. You simply attach these tags to your luggage BEFORE you check your luggage at your departure airport. This is in addition to whatever luggage tags your airline carrier attaches. The baggage handlers at MCO look for these yellow tags and they get picked up by Cast Members that deliver the bags to your room. It can take up 3 hours for your luggage to arrive, so I make sure to pack any necessary items in my carry on.
DIStracted Tip: If your flight arrives after 10:00 pm, please claim your luggage at baggage claim to bring with you on the Magical Express Motorcoach.
And don’t forget Disney’s Magical Express service also allows you to check your luggage and receive your airline boarding pass for your departing flight right at the WDW Resort.
