As we all know Walt Disney World is going through major refurbishments, from the parks to restaurants, Downtown Disney, and even some of the resorts.
Disney’s Polynesian Resort is no exception. For those of you who have been to Walt Disney World lately you would have noticed some major works going on in this resort. The first major change is a name change, back to Polynesian Village Resort, the name it originally opened with back in 1971. Located within the grounds of the Seven Seas Lagoon this resort has become a firm favourite with Disney lovers. Situated within perfect viewing of Cinderellas Castle, the nightly fireworks “Wishes”, and even the nightly Electrical Water Pageant.
The remodeling of the resort is scheduled to be finished sometime next year. A definite date has not been set as to when all work will be completed, however, Disney has said it will be Spring 2015. A full refurbishment of the lobby is currently under way and new decor throughout will be added. Many Disney fans were very upset to learn the waterfall in the lobby has been removed. The lobby remodeling is scheduled to be complete next month and I am sure Disney will not disappoint!
A new addition to the resort will be the much anticipated Pinapple Lanai which will be the ‘GO TO’ place for Disney’s favourite Dole Whip. Mmmm.
Nanae Volcano Pool is being extended to make room for a new water play area with slides, a hot tub, and additional seating. The pool remodeling is scheduled to be complete next month. Never Land Club has been replaced by The Club a place where children ages 3-12 can go and have some time out. The Club will include dress up areas, an area for children to read stories, and an area for them to do arts and crafts… and dont worry parents they will be suitably supervised by the awesome Cast Members.
