After the hugely popular animated film by Pixar, Finding Nemo there comes the anticipated sequel Finding Dory. The sequel is set to be released on June 17, 2016.
We we all got introduced to the amnesiac Blue Pacific Tang voiced by Ellen DeGeneres in the 2003 blockbuster Finding Nemo. She was a light hearted characted which you couldnt help but smile at everytime she came on screen with her short term memory and her crazy sayings like… ”I speak whhaaaaale” and ”When life gets you down do you know what you gotta do?….Just Keep Swimming”.
Finding Dory will focus a year after meeting Marlin and their frantic search for Nemo. This time it will be Dory’s turn to find her family in California, which could prove to be a little tricky especially with her memory.
Some of our favourite tank mates will also make a welcome return like Gill (William Defoe). Some new friends will join the journey like a Killer Whale (Kaitlin Olson) which will be Dory’s adopted sister, Bailey (Ty Burrell) a beluga whale, and even Dory’s parents (Mom – Jenny, voiced by Diane Keaton and her father – Charlie voiced by Euguene Levy).
The ending to the film has proved to be a bit of an issue for the writers, orginially some of our favourite little critters were to end up in a SeaWorld like marine park. Revision of the ending are still ongoing after Pixar executives viewed the Blackfish Documentary on the dangers of keeping killer whales.
So my wonderful fish enthusiasts get ready to speak whale once again when Dory hits our screens in 2016.
