Nestled between the Disney’s Days of Christmas store and Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney Marketplace, is what my family considers to be one of the best counter service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World. Disney describes Wolfgang Puck Express as “elegant dining, fast and easy” and we have found that description to be accurate.Wolfgang Puck’s philosophy of “Eat, Love, Live (WELL)™” is evident in every dish served at Wolfgang Puck Express.
Wolfgang Puck Express is named after it’s celebrity chef creator, Wolfgang Puck. I know what you are thinking: Celebrity Chef = high prices. That was my initial thought too. While it may be a bit more expensive than most counter service restaurants, Wolfgang Puck Express is well worth the extra cost as your food is freshly prepared and made to order. And, if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, a meal at Wolfgang Puck Express will only require one of your counter service credits. How’s that for value?
At Wolfgang Puck Express, you place your order at the counter, pay for your meal and are given glasses to fix your own drink and a number to place on your table.
While Disney is known for it’s sometimes over-the-top theming, Wolfgang Puck Express is simple, casual and laid-back. Even though it’s not a large venue, there is ample seating for its diners. During all of our meals at the restaurant, we have chosen to sit on what I call the sun porch. This glassed in area is located at the back of the restaurant. You get the feeling that you are outside when sitting in this area but you have the benefit of air conditioning during the warmer months and heat during the cooler months. For those who want to dine outside, there are a few tables available.
The wait staff is very attentive and will check on you frequently both before and after your meals are delivered to your table. Even though you initially fix your own drinks, the waiter or waitress will get your refills, extra napkins, condiments, etc. should you request them during your time at the restaurant.
Wolfgang Puck Express Food!
For his entree, my husband ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf sandwich with smoked mozzarella, garlic aïoli and crispy onion rings. The sandwich is normally served with house made chips but he asked to make a substitution and they allowed him to order fries.
My son ordered a classic cheese pizza and it was very large. So large that it covered the entire plate.
The entrée that I ordered was the caesar salad with chicken. The salad came with a toasted crostini and chopped tomatoes and herbs:
As you can see from the pictures, the portions are large! Most are larger than what you would get at most counter service restaurants found on Disney property. The three of us were extremely satisfied with our meals. Given our past experiences, we knew that we would be too full to eat any desserts. This was a factor in our decision to pay for this meal out-of-pocket rather than use our dining credit. We’d save the dining credit for another meal later on in the trip.
Wolfgang Puck Express serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a wide variety of counter service options. Guess will find more than the usual hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken nuggets. The menus and full descriptions can be found on the Walt Disney World website.
If you and your group are looking for an alternative to the “normal” counter service and don’t want to spend the time at a table service restaurant, have a meal at Wolfgang Puck Express. You’ll be glad that you gave it a try!

Great article Lisa! We have really liked Wolfgang Pucks. The pizza is very good. My sister even had just plain Chicken Tenders here and said they were the best she had ever had.
