Each Spring, Epcot hosts the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. In the past, the festival has started in early March and ended early to mid-May. According to news just released by Disney Parks Blog, the festival will be expanding from 75 days to 90 days in 2016! Epcot International Flower & Festival will burst onto the scene on March 2 and won’t end until May 30, 2016!
The 2016 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is designed with something for everyone in the family; with hands-on activities for all ages, how-to seminars from expert gardeners and Disney’s own team of master horticulturists, and an exciting lineup of pop hit makers which appear every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Donald Duck and Daisy topiaries will be front and center at the park’s entrance and making their topiary debut will be Huey, Dewey and Louie, Donald Duck’s nephews. In celebration of the National Parks Service centennial, Ranger Mickey Mouse will make an appearance for the first time in Future World. Disney’s horticulture artists are set to create the new Floral Sun garden that will celebrate the brightest star in Earth’s sky with yellow “sunbursts” that pop up across the Future World landscape.
Beautiful landscaping, topiaries and activities aren’t the only things showcased during the festival; it also includes Outdoor Kitchen featuring savory dishes and refreshing beverages! And don’t forget about the Garden Rocks concert series featuring music that spans four decades!
I was super excited to hear of the festival’s expansion as it means that we will finally get to see it again and, for the first time ever, we’ll get to nosh on the foods from the Outdoor Kitchens.
