This holiday season has some amazing sporting events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort. Soccer, Baseball, Football, and Cheer & Dance fans take note!
Soccer:
The Disney Soccer Showcase returns this winter. In a Soccer America survey, this event has been rated the best youth soccer tournament in the U.S. Disney Soccer Showcase allows top clubs to perform in front of hundreds of college coaches looking for soccer talent, and it gives young athletes a chance to display their skills on one of the biggest stages set for youth soccer in the country. Boys will be participating December 27 – 30, 2015 and girls will be participating December 31, 2015 – January 3, 2016.
Baseball:
The Disney New Year’s Baseball Classic, which takes place from December 30, 2015 – January 2, 2016, allows players to learn from VMP pro coaches in preparation for their upcoming baseball seasons. Players between 8 and 18 years of age who are selected for the event are automatically enrolled in the MVP Head Start College Recruiting Program at no additional cost.
Football and Cheer and Dance:
The Pop Warner Super Bowl & National Cheer and Dance Championships return for the 17th consecutive year!
The Pop Warner Super Bowl takes place from December 5 – 12, 2015, and consists of more than 64 teams from eight regions that will play in four age/weight classifications: Jr. Peewee, Peewee, Jr. Midget, and Midget. Including the Division I Midget National Championship Game, 68 games will be played. The Championship game will be featured on ESPN and ESPN2 throughout the NFL Super Bowl Week.
The Pop Warner National Cheer & Dance Championships feature over 300 cheer and dance teams competing from December 7 – 11, 2015. The Cheer and Dance teams compete in four different age ranges: Jr. Peewee, Peewee, Jr. Midget, and Midget. The Cheer teams also compete in sizes (small, medium, and large) and four competition categories (YCADA PW1, PW2, PW3, & PW4). The Dance teams compete in two competition categories (YCADA Pom Performance and Theme Dance).
