Do you ever get the Disney blues and you have no trip planned to see your favorite Mouse in the near future? Well, if you are as lucky as we are in Nashville, TN you can get a good dose of Disney magic just around the corner!
Put your Mickey ears on, load up the children, and hop in the mini-van, folks… we are doing Disney Nashville style!
The first stop on our journey is the Nashville Zoo! This zoo is beautifully maintained. It has always made me feel like I am in the middle of Animal Kingdom. The Nashville Zoo has invested plenty of time, money, and other resources into making the animals comfortable in large enclosures very remminiscent to their natural habitats. Just look at these beauties:
DIStracted Tip: Pack a picnic lunch! The Nashville Zoo has lots of shaded picnic tables all over the park, and they welcome you to bring picnic baskets and coolers of all sizes.
The next stop on our Disney tour of Nashville is Opry Mills Mall. Here you will find many stores that can be found at Disney Springs, and even a favorite restaurant found at Animal Kingdom! Our first stop at the Mall will be the Lego Store!!!
Just like the store at Disney Springs, there are plenty of opportunites for interactive play for the little ones.
There is also the usual wall of Lego bricks with buckets to fill up and purchase at a flat rate.
After some time at the zoo, and fun at the Lego Store, I say it’s time to have some dinner. Join us as we dine at none other than the Rainforest Cafe!
We were so excited when Rainforest Cafe came to Nashville! This is such a fun place to dine and play. We have celebrated lots of birthdays in this fun and festive restaurant. My favorite thing to share with hubby for dinner is this yummy vehomoth of a platter:
And, if you are celebrating, you MUST finish up with the VOOOOOOOLCAAAAAANOOOO!!! Yes, they will yell that as they bring this treat to your table!
This plate full of chocolate brownies, fudge, and vanilla ice cream is large enough to share with a full party of 8!
DIStracted Tip: Rainforest Cafe is a popular place, so be sure to snag your reservations about a week in advance!
We have one final stop to make as we finish out our Disney Day in Nashville. What is a Disney day without some actual DISNEY magic? Let’s complete our pixie dusted day with a stop at the Disney Store! You are in for a treat here, we have a Disney OUTLET store!
Here you will find merchandise from both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and the Disneyland Resort in California. Not only that, but you will find them at greatly discounted and clearance prices. How can you beat that? It’s the perfect place to shop for birthdays, Christmas, or even just to treat yourself to an inexpensvie bit of Disney fun.
As with all other Disney locations, our store has wonderful cast members ready to help you in any way possible. You may even catch a glimpse of our cast member who could pass as Ariel’s twin! If you visit on a Saturday, ask for Lynn and tell her I sent you!
As you can see, there is lots of Disney fun to be had in Nashville. Do you have favorite local places to escape for a little bit of pixie dust on those days that you get hit with the Disney blues? I would love to hear about it in the comments below!
