Everyone knows that a Disney Cruise Line cruise is a fantastic vacation option for people traveling with children. But did you know how great it is for adults? Here are my five reasons that you will love sailing with Disney Cruise Line as an adult.
There are adult only (18+) restaurants on all four Disney ships that offer signature experiences for an extra charge. Palo is available on all ships and Remy is available on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. Depending on the itinerary and length of your cruise, there are different experiences available. Palo features northern italian cuisine for brunch or dinner. The restaurant is named after the long poles used by gondoliers in Venice. There are ocean views from just about all tables and the food is amazing.
Remy is only featured on the two larger Disney ships and has french-inspired cuisine. Brunch and dinner are offered as well as a dessert experience and a “small plates” dining experience called Petites Assiettes de Remy. Reservations are required for any of these experiences on all ships and I would highly recommend that you do so well in advance. There is also a strict dress code for these amazing dining offerings.
DIStracted Tip: Keep in mind that if you have dinner at one of these fantastic restaurants, you will miss one of your dining nights at your regular rotational restaurant.
2. Senses Spa and Salon / Vista Spa and Salon
Who doesn’t love a good massage, facial, or manicure/pedicure to relax? Each ship offers a first-class spa with many different treatments available. On the Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Disney Magic, it is the Senses Spa and Salon; while on the Disney Wonder, it is the Vista Spa and Salon. Every spa offers an array of possibilities to help soothe, relax, and re-energize you. For the ultimate experience, the Senses Spa and Salon also offers private villa treatment rooms with open-air verandahs! It is highly recommended that you book treatments in advance or head to the spa once you arrive onboard.
3. Mixology, Tastings and Bars/Lounges
Disney Cruise Line wants to keep adults entertained while their children are enjoying the kids’ clubs. There is an adult entertainment district on each ship, offering several different types of lounges and bars. Live shows offered which can include music, hypnotists, comedians, or dancing. There are also areas to simply sit and relax with a beverage. Check your daily navigator (schedule of events) to see what is happening each day. Disney Cruise Line also offers mixology classes and tastings such as wine, martini, tequila, champagne, whiskey, etc.
4. Quiet Cove Pool
Each Disney ship offers a pool just for adults. You can unwind and relax in a kid-free area and enjoy a beverage as well if you choose. It’s a great area to relax and rejuvenate in a quiet zone. The Quiet Cove Pool is available on all ships and an area known as Satellite Falls is on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. Satellite Falls is a wading pool with a gentle rain for grown-ups.
5. Cove Cafe
Next to the tranquil surroundings of the Quiet Cove pool, you will find the Cove Cafe where you can sip on cocktails and specialty coffees, read books and magazines, or watch TV. The Cove Cafe offers both an indoor and outdoor area. There is an extra cost for the beverages (gourmet coffee, mixed drinks, and other cocktails) but pastries are included in the price of your cruise.
