As soon as they announced Star Wars Season of the Force at D23 Expo all I could think about was blue milk. I mean come on you can’t have specialty Star Wars treats without having blue milk, right?
I have to admit that I was slightly disappointed to see no drink featuring “blue milk” on the menu at Galactic Grill when it debuted its Star Wars menu in November. BUT they did make up for it by featuring “Bantha Blue Milk Bread” french toast on their breakfast menu!
DIStracted Tip: Just in case you can’t make it over to the Galactic Grill for breakfast you can always try the kids’ Jawa Turkey Sand-Wich which is made with Bantha blue milk bread on the lunch and dinner menu! Read more about the Galactic Grill’s dinner selections here!
The Bantha Blue Milk Bread french toast was delicious! Maybe it was just the excitement over finally trying the famous “blue milk,” but I loved it. The adult portion comes with a small bowl of fresh mixed fruit and bacon. The kids’ Baby Bantha Bread comes with 1 slice of blue milk bread, fresh fruit and turkey bacon.
DIStracted Tip: The blue bread does not taste any different than regular white bread. It isn’t flavored in any special way.
Next on the menu to try was the Lars Family Breakfast Platter which is perfect for those that may have picky eaters in the family or that love a traditional eggs and bacon breakfast. The platter comes with scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon and a biscuit. I’m not a big scrambled egg eater, but the breakfast potatoes were awesome! The Padawan Breakfast Plate is just a smaller version of the platter and comes with turkey bacon instead.
We didn’t try the Darth Tamale, but I did hear people raving about it all around me and I have to admit it looks pretty good. This Dark Side tamale is a blue corn tamale with scrambled eggs, chorizo (which I LOVE), red chili sauce and tomatilla.
The Galactic Grill has now become our go-to quick service for breakfast in Disneyland Park. Besides the fact that even our most picky eater will eat there, the food is fresh and just plain tasty! The Star Wars theme doesn’t hurt either!
