LaBrea Bakery Express – A Great Grab and Go Breakfast at the Disneyland Resort
Just before passing through security from the Downtown Disney District into the esplanade between Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure Park, sits the La Brea Bakery Cafe. You’ll probably smell the amazing odor of freshly baking bread before you even see the cafe! There is sit-down full service dining here (we’ve eaten a delicious pizza dinner here before) as well as the La Brea Bakery Express, where you can grab and go or sit on the patio outside.
On the morning of our visit, the bakery cases were already loaded with freshly baked breakfast pastries as well as cups of cut fruit and yogurt. There were calzones baking in a wood fired oven. Oh, does it smell amazing in here!
We ordered our big kids an Egg and Bacon Panini Sandwich and requested that the sandwich be cut in half so they could share. The sandwich was very big and stuffed with scrambled egg, thick Applewood smoked bacon slices and Swiss Gruyère. They were able to eat it while it was hot as we entered the Park. A little later when we’d been on a few attractions and were taking a break on a bench, they polished off the side of cubed country potatoes that came with the sandwich. At $9.50 for the sandwich and potatoes, it was a large size meal that was nicely shared between our tweens.
My husband ordered us a Turkey Avocado Sandwich that came with a small side salad. He had them put the avocado on the side so we could add it when we were ready (and it didn’t get brown). There was a zesty spread (Chipotle Aïoli) on the honey wheat bread that we both loved. It had a bit of a kick that paired nicely with the turkey and creamy avocado. The sandwich came with your choice of either chips or a salad. We went with the mixed greens and vinaigrette dressing. At $9.75 it was a nice brunch meal to share that filled us up until lunchtime.
If you like Grab & Go meals that are hot and fresh, I highly recommend the La Brea Bakery Express. They will package everything up neatly in a handled bag so you can take it with you into the Park and enjoy at your leisure!

[…] Napa Rose is a fancier dining restaurant so we’ve yet to dine here. There is also Whitewater Snacks which is close-by the pool area and would be a good choice for a quick grab and go meal. Disney’s Grand Californian is very close to the Downtown Disney District and lots of other dining choices. For our morning at the park, we were able to walk into the Downtown Disney District and grab breakfast sandwiches from La Brea Bakery Express. […]
