As part of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival held each September – November in Epcot theme park in Walt Disney World, Disney invites popular musicians, ranging from the 60’s to today to give free concerts to park-goers. This multi-week festival featuring rockin’ tunes from a variety of popular artists is known as the “Eat to the Beat” Concert Series Every evening, one of over 20 chart-topping bands or solo artists bring their delightful sounds to eager fans.
DIStracted Tip: Daily show times for the Eat to the Beat Concert Series are at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:00 PM, so you have plenty of chances to see your favorite act.
Over the years, there have been numerous acts that have graced the stage in the American Pavilion in the American Adventure section of Epcot, including: The Pointer Sisters, Air Supply, Sister Hazel, and Jo Dee Messina. However, the best bands come back each year to the delight of their loyal fans, including the iconic fan favorite, Boyz II Men.

The stage at the American Adventure
Being Florida locals, my family and I are lucky enough to take an hour drive to Walt Disney World’s doorstep. Yesterday evening, my husband and I took full advantage of that in order to see Boyz II Men. Boyz II Men have been performing as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series since nearly the beginning, which is a testament to their onstage allure. They were performing over three nights, with three shows each evening, but I can say with authority that each show was overflowing, with many fans standing just outside the theater hoping to catch a glimpse.
DIStracted Tip: Epcot now offers the ability to use one of your daily Fast Passes to gain guaranteed entry into the event. So, if you are planning a concert as part of your vacation, make sure you grab a Fastpass for your preferred date and time.
We arrived at Epcot as the second show was starting; however, it was way too packed to get in, so we grabbed a quick bite and headed back to the stand-by line for the 8:00 PM show. While in line, we made friends with fellow Boyz II Men aficionados who were also locals, but couldn’t miss a chance to see the band. Luckily, we all managed to get in to see the final performance of Boyz II Men and it was definitely a great ending to another year at the Concert Series.

Boyz II Men opening their last show
Boyz II Men opened their set with “Water Runs Dry.” True to their sound over the years, the remaining three of four original band members hit all the high notes and silky smooth choruses. The evening progressed with other classics including “I’ll Make Love to You” and “Motown Philly,” which left me (and all the other fans) dancing in our seats. Throughout the performance, the Boyz were very interactive, and even made their way into the crowd to shake hands and hand out roses during the ballads. At the end of the performance, they even brought their own children on stage to show off their snazzy hip-hop dance moves and give a quick hello.

Overall, this was by far one of the most intimate and awesome ways to see a big named band, especially one that has had a career spanning three decades. I encourage you to find your favorite band and make the trek to Epcot for a delicious concert experience!
