With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, many of our readers may be panicking. This time of year is so busy that it is sometimes difficult to plan. Well have no fear, gift-givers. If your Valentine is sweet on Mickey and Minnie, I guarantee you can find a last-minute gift that is sure to please.
One of the best gifts my husband recently bought for me is called Poster Art of the Disney Parks by Danny Handke and Vanessa Hunt. This coffee table book is an explosion of color and nostalgia, featuring attraction posters created by Disney Imagineers. You and your Valentine can stroll through Disney history together in the pages of this book. As luck would have it, Poster Art of the Disney Parks is available through Amazon and eligible for free two-day Prime shipping.
If time has really escaped you and you find yourself “late for a very important date” like the White Rabbit, hop on over to the perfect store … The Disney Store. I am lucky enough to still have several near my home, so I paid a trip to The Disney Store in Woodfield Mall (Schaumburg, Illinois) to check out some Valentine’s Day options. Star Wars fans will find just about everything they need here … and I was thrilled to see Rey was prominently featured on much of the merchandise. For the younger set, Star Wars pajamas are only $19.99, while must-have Chewbacca slippers for kids make a fun gift at $16.95. The Star Wars play set (a reasonable $14.95) features a Rey action figure as well.
T-shirts are a staple at the Disney Store and they have just about any style and theme your Valentine might like, from Boba Fett to Captain America. Has your sweetie been especially good this year? Men’s T-shirts are a steal at only $15.00 each if you buy 3!
I personally am a huge fan of incorporating little bits of Disney into my home, sweet reminders of the amazing times my family and I have shared on our Disney Parks vacations. That is why I loved seeing the Mickey and Minnie Valentine’s Day themed picture frame and “Love” coffee mug. Either (or both) of these would be a perfect Valentine’s token of love! Are you reading this, honey?
Okay, I can hear many of you saying, “But I don’t live near a Disney Store and don’t have time to order a gift on-line.” I have you covered! Many department stores now feature Disney themed clothing and gifts. I spotted an adorable T-shirt at Macy’s Department Store featuring Mickey and Minnie with their arms and hands forming a heart.
And for the big spenders out there, get your wish list ready. Our local Von Maur Department Store blew me away with their Swarovski Crystal Disney Collection, featuring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Elsa and even Cinderella’s famous glass slipper. Prices ranged from $199.00 (Frozen’s Olaf) to a limited edition 2016 Elsa with a steep price tag of $599.00. I can guarantee that any one of these will warm even the most frozen of hearts (see what I did there?).
One final option is to hit your local Target Store. Most of our readers have access to a Target and they carry all sorts of Disney themed gifts, candy and traditional Valentine’s Day cards. Mickey waffle maker, anyone? If that special someone is a collector, I found a substantial display of Disney Tsum Tsums patiently waiting to be adopted into a good Disney-loving home.
With all of these options, all easy to pick up at the last minute in between job stresses and carpools, you are sure to find a gift that your kids/spouse/significant other/special someone will love and appreciate. Happy Valentine’s Day from MagicalDIStractions!
