The Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel first opened on June 4, 1990. The resort, while on Disney property, is actually owned and operated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The Dolphin is an Epcot area deluxe resort featuring twenty-seven floors with over 1500 guest rooms and luxury suites. The hotel, designed by Michael Graves, is adorned with two fifty-six foot tall dolphins. Guests staying at the Dolphin can enjoy ferry transportation to and from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
