Walt Disney World’s version of the Main Street Electrical Parade debuted on June 11, 1977. The parade featured floats and live performers covered in thousands of electronically controlled lights synchronized to a soundtrack. The parade, created by Bob Jani and Ron Miziker, originally appeared in Disneyland in 1972. The Walt Disney World version of the parade ran through 1991 when it was replaced with SpectroMagic. The Main Street Electrical Parade returned to Walt Disney World in May of 1999 for the start of the Millennium Celebration.
