The May 20, 1967 edition of Amusement Business features a cover story on the recently opened Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland. Pirates of the Caribbean first opened on March 18, 1967. It was the last attraction for which construction was overseen by Walt Disney himself, as he died three months before it opened. Pirates was originally envisioned as a walk-through wax museum attraction, however, with the success of the boat ride concept of it’s a small world at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, Walt Disney decided to employ a similar concept on Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pirates of the Caribbean is a fan favorite and can now be found in the Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and in the new Shanghai Disneyland. POV videos surfaced last week of the Shanghai Disneyland attraction and it is absolutely breathtaking!

I have experienced the attraction in the Magic Kingdom as well as in Disneyland and I must say the ride in Disneyland is so much better!! Do you agree or disagree? I would love to hear your feedback.
