Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes first debuted in Disneyland Park on May 19, 1971. This free-floating canoe experience had originally opened in 1956 as Indian War Canoes. The attraction was inspired by the Davy Crockett Disneyland television show and very popular Ballad of Davy Crockett (1955).
The attraction is still up and running in Disneyland to this day (though currently closed for refurbishment). The attraction is open seasonally and closes for inclement weather.
