From all the staff at Magic DIStractions we would like to express our sincere condolences to the friends, family and LGBT community of those affected by the tragic events at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. Hundreds of Disney employees have shown their love towards the victims and families of the attack, posting hundreds of pictures of cast members, technicians, costuming, techs, entertainment and more by showing the heart sign. Showing our support as a Disney site (from England to Canada to the USA) here is our staff displaying their love to all of our Orlando friends.
We encourage you to share your love with Orlando by posting your pictures with the heart shape as demonstrated by these little cuties below.
Several Disney Cast Members have been named as victims of the tragic event. Jerald Arthur Wright was a seasoned worker who most recently worked on Main Street U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom park. Universal also lost one of their employees, Luis Vielma who worked in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Xavier Serrano who was a former employee.
We would like to advise our followers that due to the nature of these attacks Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and other theme parks around Orlando have stepped up security. While everyone who visits Universal has to walk through the metal detectors, only a select few would go through them at Disney. Disney now has extra security measures in place. We encourage you to please cooperate with Disney security. If you are heading to the parks, please allow extra time for these necessary checks.
Disney has also pledged their donation of $1 million to the OneOrlando fund which is helping the victims of the tragedy. Any donation made by a Disney employee will be matched dollar for dollar by Disney’s matching employee gift. Accommodations for the friends and families of those effected will also be provided by Disney. We encourage you to pledge your own donation. No amount is too small. United, we all stand #OrlandoStrong.
