It has been rumored for a while now that some changes were coming to Walt Disney World Resort’s FastPass+ system. The major change rumored is the ability to schedule additional FastPasses using the My Disney Experience (MDE) app on your smartphone or tablet. On April 10, 2016 some of these rumored changes will take place!
The biggest change is that after booking their initial FastPasses (1st – 3rd) Guests will now be able to schedule additional (4th and beyond) FastPasses using the MDE app on their smartphones or tablets. This means no more standing in line at the kiosks! This should free up some valuable park time, especially during the busy seasons. Guests will still only be able to book the additional FastPasses one at a time and will not be able to schedule another until the previous one is used. BUT with the new change Guests will now be able to schedule a Fastpass for a different park after the initial 3 have been used!
Another new feature will be that Guests will be able to choose the attraction and return time at one time, instead of choosing the attraction and being given a random return time. This will allow Guests a little more freedom when planning the park day.
Along with these changes, Guests will now be able to remove a single Guest from Fastpass+ reservations and will be able to change a single FastPass without having to rearrange all 3 of their initial FastPass selections.
With the Fastpass+ changes Disney will also be giving the My Disney Experience app an updated look with bigger changes coming in the future. For those that have used the official Disneyland Resort app these bigger and better changes will look familiar, as Disney moves to make MDE similar to the Disneyland app.
