It’s mid-March, and everyone knows what that means…March Madness! Well Disney is not to be left out of the traditionally basketball bracket fun. The annual “March Magic” Tournament is back again this year. The March Magic Tournament is an online competition which pits attractions from both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California against each other for the title of ultimate Disney attraction. From now until April 4, 2016, you can help decide which of the 32 attraction-inspired teams will continue through each round of the tournament.

Artwork for this year’s March Magic teams was created by the Disney Design Group at Disney Theme Park Merchandise. Of the 32 “teams” featured, there are a few returning teams including 2015 champions, the Gracey Manor Ghouls. The competition also features several new teams including the Future World Phoenicians at Walt Disney World Resort or the Buena Vista Red Car Trolleys at Disneyland Resort.

Voting for the March Magic competition will take place online via Facebook or Twitter. Starting March 15, you can vote for your favorite Disney attraction at either at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort. Follow Walt Disney World and Disneyland on Facebook and Twitter to learn how to cast your vote for each match up. The final matchup between the top two attractions will take place on April 4.

To help cheer on your favorite March Magic 2016 teams, you can now purchase limited release products created especially for the Disney Parks online store at http://www.disneystore.com/MarchMagic. From now until April 10, the Disney Parks online store is debuting a series of 32 team shirts featuring Disney attraction logos created by Disney Design Group artists. Numbers will be printed on the backs of team shirts representing opening dates or other numbers of significance (think “999” for Gracey Manor Ghouls). These limited release Hanes Nano t-shirts will ship in 3-5 weeks once ordered (express shipping is not available). Look for a special promotion for these shirts – buy two shirts for $44.00 (plus tax).

The shirts will be released on the following schedule:

• March 15-24 – All 32 team shirts available online from Round 1.
• March 24-29 – The 16 team shirts from Round 2 available online.
• March 28-31 – Team shirts for remaining eight teams in Round 3 available online.
• April 2-5 – Team shirts available online for final four teams in Round 4.
• April 4-6 – Team shirts for two remaining teams available online.
• April 5-10 – Team shirt for March Magic 2016 winner available online.

There were two teams that didn’t make the cut this year. However, the designers loved the teams so much they became additional products for March Magic 2016. The Adventureland Dole Whip represents Disneyland Resort while the Adventureland Swirl is for Walt Disney World Resort.
