I think the best bang for my Disney buck I have ever gotten was a martini tasting on the Disney Magic. On our four (4) night Bahamian sailing, we decided to forgo getting off the ship in Nassau and enjoy all the Magic had to offer. We signed up for a Martini tasting to be held in Keys for $15 per person (pricing subject to change). We arrived a few minutes early and settled into a comfy seat in the lounge. There were five (5) mini-martini glasses placed in front of us and we were joined by a dozen or so other tasters.
Our fun and knowledgeable Cast Member began by educating us on the history of the martini and serving us a traditional gin martini with an olive, followed by a traditional vodka martini with a citrus garnish. Both were a little too strong for me, but I made it through. As we tasted, the Cast Member shared more information and rewarded a few tasters with full size drink for answering questions correctly.
Our next martini was an Appletini which was much more my style. Following that, our Cast Member asked for a volunteer and my hand shot up. I was chosen to assist in making a Passion Fruit Martini. Let’s just say my shaker skills need improving, but I was rewarded for my efforts with a full size version of this cocktail.
We closed out our tasting with a delicious Chocolate Martini. Though Keys wasn’t technically open, we felt welcome to stay and not rush through our drinks and enjoyed chatting with the Cast Members and other guests. I would highly recommend this or any other tasting offered by Disney Cruise Line. Don’t be shy, volunteer! Feel free to contact me for help planning your next Disney Cruise or vacation to any other magical destination.
DIStracted Tip: Make sure to stop by guest services once aboard the Disney Magic to reserve your spot for the martini tasting experience!
