Rumors, rumors, rumors… Nothing sets the Internet into a buzz like a good rumor! According to WDW News Today , Marvel characters and attractions may be heading to Walt Disney World sooner than we all thought. Universal Studios has owned the Marvel Theme Park rights since the 1990’s, and Disney has been forced to honor that deal ever since they purchased Marvel in 2009. Now, there are some rumors that Disney and Universal may be coming to an agreement that would release the Marvel Theme Park rights to Disney.
There are speculations that a couple of the Marvel attractions at Universal Studios Orlando will be closing or will be re-themed. By the end of 2015, it is expected that the Incredible Hulk Coaster will be closed to undergo a major rehab and open with a new theme, while Dr. Doom’s Fear Fall is expected to be removed completely.
We all know with the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Studios doesn’t need Marvel anymore, so now would be a good time for them to relinquish the rights to Disney…
