Meeting the Grinch!
I just love theme parks at Christmas, the trees, the special treats, fun holiday programming. So checking out Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood was a no brainer! We got to the park as soon as it opened and made a beeline for the Grinchmas area. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the first of many Whos’ we would encounter. She let us know that the line to meet the Grinch was relatively short so off we went to wait in line. While in line, there was an opportunity to color paper ornaments with the Grinch on them. The line went quick and the Grinch was hilarious, acting like the Grinch, I was a little nervous how my son would react but I was worried for no reason. The Grinch was sweet and as kind as could be and even asked for a hug! After the Grinch, we got to meet Max the dog!
Fun in Who-ville
To me, the Grinch was the main event at Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood, but there was so much more to do! Our next stop, was the Who-ville Post Office where we sent a postcard promising 3 good deeds to the Grinch and they donated a book to a child in my neighborhood. I love that it was that easy to give back! At the post office, we also received a scavenger hunt, we had to get stamps around Who-ville and then bring it back to the post office for a prize! We quickly made our way around and got a fun bracelet as a prize!
Also, in Who-ville, was a fun photo op that made it look like you were joining the Grinch and Max on their quest. But the best part (besides the Grinch) was the amazing Christmas Tree! It was beautiful! In front of the tree was a stage where all their holiday entertainment happened. We were lucky to attend Storytime with Cindy-Lou Who. She gave a great rendition of How the Grinch Stole Christmas complete with a pop up story book. There were mats right in front of the stage for the kids to sit to hear the story and my son had a blast having a front row seat. As we were leaving the park, we saw Martha May and the Who-Dolls’ holiday revue. They also had snacks, a small kiosk of merchandise and some props from the movie.
I highly recommend Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood! We had such a blast. Most of the rest of the park was also decorated and it was so neat to see all the décor. Grinchmas runs December 16th-January 1st.
