It was announced yesterday on the Universal Orlando Blog that Wet ‘n Wild Orlando will be closing permanently on December 31, 2016.

Wet ‘n Wild Orlando opened in March 13, 1977.

Considered  America’s first water park, Wet ‘n Wild Orlando has set the bar for water parks all across the country. Wet ‘n Wild Orlando is home to some major water slides including it’s newest attraction Aqua Drag Racer which is billed as the tallest and fastest water slide in Florida.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise as Universal Studios Orlando is throwing everything they have at building a new water park. It was announced late last month that Universal’s Volcano Bay will open in 2017.
