Days after I shared my delicious experience at the “Fantasmic!” dessert party, The Disneyland Resort announced that new “Fantasmic!” dining options will be available beginning December 12. The new set up is similar to World of Color at California Adventures. There are a number of options at various price points and include:

Reservations can be made 30 days ahead of time on-line or by calling Disneyland Dining at 714-781-DINE(3463).
If you would like to view “Fantasmic!” without purchasing a dining package, the show will now feature “reserved” and “stand-by” viewing sections. A FASTPASS will be required to gain access to the “reserved” viewing areas, and can be picked up along Big Thunder Trail beginning at Park opening on a first come first served basis, while supplies last or one hour prior to showtime. Each FASTPASS will have an assigned showtime and viewing section, as well as a suggested return time. Stand by viewing is available on a first come, first served basis. Most viewing areas will be standing room only, but there are a few offering ground seating options.
As with any Disney change, the reaction is mixed. Some love the idea of the new format and some wish it to stay the same. It is important to note that unlike the previous “Fantasmic!” dessert party and priority viewing, “chairs will not be provided in any of the viewing areas,” according to the Disney Parks Blog. I for one am always excited to try something new, so this will certainly be on my list for the next trip!
