In addition to this weekend’s big reveal of the official theatrical poster for the rabidly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens (coming to theaters December 18th), viewers of ESPN’s Monday Night Football tonight will be treated to “an exclusive new look at the film.” I think I’ve suddenly become a football fan! (For one night at least.)
As if all this wasn’t enough to satiate fans of the Sith, immediately following the exclusive tonight, Star Wars fans around the world will be able to buy tickets for the film’s release in December! Personally, I’d rather get my tickets this way (two months in advance online), rather than camping out in a sleeping bag at our local theater (as was experienced for Episode One).
And, it’s not just your average movie ticket either (though that is an option). True fanboys and fangirls will be able to purchase tickets for special events, like the Star Wars Marathon Event, where fans will consecutively experience the six already released episodes, culminating with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Additionally, guests at these events will receive a exclusive lanyard featuring Star Wars Marathon Event art.
Cinemark, AMC, Regal, and a number of other theaters will offer their own different promotional merchandise. And, if you purchase those tickets via Fandango, you’ll be entered to win a trip to the world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!

I have no idea which teams are facing off tonight during ESPN’s Monday Night Football. But I do know, I’ll be rooting for the Force from a galaxy far, far away!
