Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the yellow flag has waved on the closure of the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and that the previously reported June closure (Last Laps for Richard Petty Driving Experience) has been moved back until August 9, 2015.
On August 9, the final day of Richard Petty Driving Experience will end with an auction for the last ride with the proceeds benefiting the local charity Give the Kids the World.
Petty Holdings will also be honoring 43 Day (4/3) with a special 43% discount on driving experiences booked on April 3, 2015 (4/3). They will also be offering a discount of $43 off any ride-along to honor the Petty’s famous #43 car on the unofficial holiday. This offer is good on any available date that is booked on April 3 at the Walt Disney World location only.
“This is a great way for Petty fans around the country to get behind the wheel, or in the passenger seat, of a stock car to experience the thrill of racing on some of the country’s most iconic tracks,” Chris Kirby, director of marketing for Petty Holdings, said in a release. (Orlando Sentinel)
It was released in February that the Richard Petty Driving Experience located at Disney World would be closing at the end of June to make way for transportation improvements. Once the Disney World location is closed, guests can visit the Daytona location for all their speeding needs.
Disney Parks has not released any information regarding the transportation improvements that may be in the works.

Well I’ll be… Still won’t be able to experience it when we make the DPMP but I’ll be blessed to get a ride in before then. Wish I could have gotten the 43% discount. ;(
