On our most recent trip to Walt Disney World, we were lucky enough to stay Club Level and get to experience the Old Faithful Club Concierge Lounge at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. In true Disney fashion, they know when you are arriving and when we did, we were immediately whisked up to the 7th floor where only Club Level guests stay. In order to get to the 7th floor Club Level Guests must scan their Magic Bands in the elevator.
There was a special check-in desk and although we did not get a room with bunk beds as we had requested, a room was ready when we arrived at 11:30 AM. We were escorted to our room by the Cast Member who was even smart enough to stealthly hand us our welcome chocolates just in case we didn’t want to share with the kids! Once we looked around we decided to go check out the Old Faithful Club since it was snack time. Seating for the club area surrounds the middle of the floor and overlooks the lobby. There are TVs and kid sized tables and chairs for the little ones and plenty of seating for adults too.
During the snack hours the club fridge is stocked with juice boxes, sodas and beer. Coffee, hot cocoa, tea, water, and other beverages (lemonade, tea, juice) are also always available. There are gummy bears, homemade potato chips, goldfish, snack mixes, cookies and fruit. Nothing you could make a meal out of, but good for a quick bite. Snacks are available from 11:30 AM until 4:00 PM.
During the hours of 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM is the time I think you can really make a meal out of the Club Level offerings. Of course, I think wine, cheese and bread is one of the best meals anytime!
There was a selection of both red and white wines to serve yourself along with cheeses, vegetable trays, bread, crackers and dips like hummus or goat cheese spreads.
There were also two different salads offered each night along with a hot appetizer. We enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches one night and beef and bleu cheese meatballs wrapped in bacon another night.
The kids enjoyed Peanut Butter and Jelly shooters too!
8:00PM to 10:00PM is cordial and dessert time at the Old Faithful Club. Added to the wine selection are now some great options for a night cap including Gran Marnier and Kahlua. There was always a hot and delicious cobbler available along with smore’s tarts, magic cookie bars, rice crispy bon bons and cookies. After getting stuck in quite the rain storm it was wonderful to be able to bring these treats back to our room and dry off.
Speaking of our room, the view looking down wasn’t very desirable, BUT the view looking out was lovely and offered a fabulous view of Wishes, so no complaints from us!
The Old Faithful Club also provides a Continental Breakfast each morning from 7:00 AM until 10:30 AM (Coffee is available at 6:30 AM). It consists of pastries, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit and hard boiled eggs. The kids would sit at their little table to eat, color and watch TV and my husband and I would have time to talk through the day. It’s a lovely way to begin the day, but we would always plan for an early lunch. With almost no protein or hot options we found ourselves hungry earlier than we would be otherwise.
On average the Club Level at Walt Disney World Resorts can run you upwards of an additional $100.00 per night, so I am often asked if it is worth it. My answer is yes, but only if your schedule will allow you to use the offerings. We had the breakfast daily and because we have small children we would either be back at the resort mid-day and enjoy the snacks and make our dinner out of the appetizers or we would be back earlier in the evening while desserts and cordials were still being offered. If you plan to be at the parks from open until close then it may not be a good value for you. I’m always happy to help you choose the best resort and room for your family, so don’t hesitate to contact me for help planning your next magical adventure!
