Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, also referred to as POFQ, is one of five Walt Disney World’s Moderate Resorts. The Moderate Resorts are a step up from the Value Resorts in that the Resorts themselves are nicer and have a lot more amenities to offer the guests. The average rate per night is approximately $187.67 before tax. There are 1,008 rooms in the seven three-story buildings with each building having 144 rooms. The rooms at the French Quarter is approximately 314 square feet and can comfortably accommodate a family of four.
The Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is located in the Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney) area and is adjacent to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. See the picture gallery below for pictures of the rooms, resort grounds and more.
The French Quarter Resort features scrolled railings, cobblestone streets and courtyards which capture the spirit and romance of New Orleans’ French Quarter. A leisurely stroll down the streets named Rue D’ Baga, Jazz Alley and Neptune’s Parade, is a great way to take in the lovely resort grounds.
Guests can dine on Creole delicacies, plunge into the pool with its sea serpent water slide and relish the Mardi Gras atmosphere of Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. At Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, every day is Mardi Gras!
Guests will check in at Port Orleans Square which houses the main lobby, front desk, concierge services, shop, food court, bar and bus stop.
Should you need assistance with your luggage either during the check-in or check-out process, Bell Services, located just outside of the Port Orleans Square, will be more than happy to assist you. Simply stop by their desk or call them from your room telephone.
South Quarter Games, the resort’s arcade, is also located in Port Orleans Square and is just off the main lobby.
Jackson Square Gifts and Desires sells both Disney related and non-Disney themed items and also stocks an assortment of snacks, drinks and assorted sundries.
Guests staying at Port Orleans French Quarter can enjoy the amenities offered at Port Orleans Riverside, and vice versa. As can be seen in the map below, the two resorts are closely situated and are just a leisurely stroll from one another.
Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Room Options
- Standard View. These rooms will sleep up to four people and feature 2 queen-size beds. Almost all standard view rooms face a parking lot.
- Garden View. These rooms will sleep up to four people and feature 2 queen-size beds. Offer views of gardens, courtyards or fountains.
- Pool View. These rooms will sleep up to four people and feature 2 queen-size beds. Offer views of resort’s main pool.
- River View. These rooms will sleep up to four people and feature 2 queen-size beds. Offer views of the Sassagoula River.
- King. These rooms will sleep up to two adults and feature 1 king-size bed. Some king rooms offer views of the pool or river.
- Handicapped Accessible Rooms. These rooms are available for those with wheelchairs, as well as those needing TTY equipment. The TTY equipment is available upon request at check-in. Service animals are welcome.
Adjoining rooms are available throughout the resort and can be requested. Please keep in mind that adjoining rooms are a request only but Disney will try to accommodate those requests especially if your family consists of more children than adults.

Port Orleans French Quarter Dining Options
Sassagoula Floatworks Here guests can dine on beignets for breakfast, muffalettas, King Creole platters, pizza, burgers, ice cream and more! For those who want a light snack or are in a hurry, stop by the grab-n-go section. Refillable mugs can be purchased and refilled at Sassagoula Floatworks.
Scat Cat’s Club, the resort’s feature bar, serves drinks and appetizers and offers entertainment Wednesday through Saturday starting at 8:30 p.m.

Mardi Grogs, French Quarter’s poolside bar, serves a variety of specialty drinks, plus light snacks. (11:30 am – 6:00 pm).
In-room dining is offered from 4:00-11:30 pm with a limited menu.
Table Service dining is offered at Port Orleans Resort – Riverside at Boatwright’s Dining Hall which is just a leisurely stroll or a relaxing boat ride away from Port Orleans French Quarter.

The feature pool, the Doubloon Lagoon, also has a Mardi Gras theme with colorful Mardi Gras characters and an alligator band that squirts water into the pool. The slide is a huge sea serpent and sliding down the serpent’s tongue is a delightful way to enter the pool. Because of the quaint size of the resort, there is only one hot tub. Daily activities, weather permitted, are held at the main pool. There is also a kids’ pool near the main pool. If you want to sit and relax, grab a drink and/or snack at the pool bar, Mardi Grogs, and sip it by the pool or down by Sassagoula River where there are benches affording a pretty view of the resort and river.
Located near Doubloon Lagoon is the resort’s laundry room and the cost is $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. The washers and dryers are no longer coin operated and you will need a credit or debit card to use them.
Nightly outdoor movies are shown in Beignet Squre, the grassy courtyard between buildings 4, 5, and 6. The nightly movie will only be shown weather permitting.
Weather permitting, a nightly marshmallow roast is hosted by the castmembers behind building six. Marshmallows and roasting sticks are provided free of charge.

Port Orleans French Quarter Transportation Options
Bus service to all four theme parks, water parks and Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney) runs one hour prior to park opening and one hour after park closing. Buses are scheduled to run every twenty minutes. That’s the official word from Disney; however, guests may notice that they run earlier, later and more frequently than the official time.
Port Orleans French Quarter has a single covered bus stop and it’s located near Port Orleans Square (the main lobby). The buses at French Quarter sometimes share with Port Orleans Riverside. If that is the case, the buses normally stop at French Quarter first when picking up and dropping off.

If you want to go to Disney Springs, boat service is available between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. The resort boat launch is just beyond/behind Doubloon Lagoon, the resort’s pool. In the case of inclement weather, boats will not be running and you will need to take a bus to and from the resort. **Hours are subject to change.
