Ladies and gentlemen, sports fans around the World, if you are looking for a place to watch the game while on vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, look no further than ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk.
Atmosphere:
ESPN Club is a high energy, family-friendly restaurant that combines good eats and great drinks, in a festive team atmosphere. Nearly one hundred televisions (even in the bathrooms!) and surround sound speakers bring the game to your table. Whether it’s college or pro, hockey, basketball, football, soccer, baseball or even golf, ESPN Club will have it on.
There are two dining arenas. The Sidelines, which features a full walk up bar and 40 monitors with 25 satellite feeds, is the pub side of the Club. The other side is Sports Central, where a 108 square foot video wall takes center stage. It also houses a radio/television booth, where live broadcasts occasionally take place. Memorabilia adorns every available inch of wall space throughout.
Food:
The food is good, really good by sports pub standards. I myself am a fan of nachos and can single-handedly demolish a plate of Pub Nachos (no judging, I walk them off the next day). Along with burgers, wings and “Boo-yah!” Chili, there are healthier options such as the Turkey and Brie Sandwich. Choice of sides includes fries or a cucumber salad. There is a limited kids menu, but one could argue that there is plenty kids would eat off the main menu.
Drinks:
Attention beer lovers…ESPN Club is calling you! With close to 40 draught and bottle beers, spanning craft, domestic and international, there is a pint sure to satisfy your thirst. There are also cocktails and wine, along with non-alcoholic beverages such as soft drinks and lemonade.
Game Day Tips:
ESPN Club does not take reservations, which is handy for those nights when you are up for something spontaneous.
Make sure you arrive early (an hour or so) if you are watching a big game. We were there during the 2009 NFC Championship game. It was so packed that people were outside watching, cheering and jeering. It was a mad house and an absolute blast.
Bottom line, ESPN Club is the perfect spot to eat, drink and cheer your team to victory!
