Disney’s Pop Century Resort is one of the most beloved value resorts on Walt Disney World Resort property. It’s known for giant colorful icons, the Hippy Dippy Pool, and the cast members doing the hustle in the resort lobby. But, did you know that some of the buildings and rooms offer fantastic views and walking paths? Today, I’ll share with you my thoughts on our room with a view at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort Room Review
During our most recent trip to Walt Disney World, we experienced a first. We booked a split stay. The first part of our two-week trip started out at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This was our first stay in a value resort and I must admit that we were all a bit nervous. Our previous stays have always been in moderate resorts with Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort being our home away from home. Because of our uncertainty, I planned five nights at Disney’s Pop Century and the remainder of the time at Disney’s Caribbean Beach.
Room Requests
My only request, when making our reservation, was a room that was in a quiet location. Other than that, we didn’t really care where our room was located. The friendly cast member put in a request for a quiet room facing the lake. As I wrote in my article, Should You Make Requests on Your Disney Resort Reservation, requests are just that, requests. So, when we checked in, I had no idea if our room would be in a quiet location.
While checking in, the cast member said that my request had been granted and our room would be in Building 32 facing the lake. Having only visited Disney’s Pop Century Resort once on a previous vacation, I didn’t know if that was a “good” building but we would soon find out.

While the rooms weren’t as large as the moderate resorts, we were surprised that they didn’t feel small. The closet and sink area were noticeably smaller, but we could definitely make it work. The differences that stood out to us were the bed size, the single sink, no ceiling fan, and less storage space. But, these were things that wouldn’t adversely effect our stay.
You may have noticed the groceries on the table in our room. As I have always done in the past, I placed an order with Garden Grocer, a reliable grocery delivery service. They delivered our order to the resort and Bell Services had them in our room waiting for us.

A Room with a View
My request for a room/building in a quiet location was made due to the fact that my husband has epilepsy. He needs to unwind at the end of the day or have a quiet spot to sit and relax when he feels tense. Room 3237 was a great location! We were at the end of the building and just a short walk to the bowling pin stairway.
A beautiful view of the lake and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort across the way as seen from the balcony outside our room.
Pop Century Resort Grounds
One morning, I went out to take a video of our surroundings.
Not far from our room was the promenade around the lake, and the promenade led to a sitting area. This quiet area was near the bridge leading to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
Once I reached the Generation Gap bridge, I turned left and was at the Hippy Dippy Pool.
At this point, I turned around to go back to the room because the others were getting ready to head to the parks. My exploring time for the day was done. However, had I gone past the pool, I would have reached Everything Pop Shopping & Dining.
What Did We Think of the Room and Location?
As I said, we were pleasantly surprised by the room and the location. The room size was something that we could deal with. Would we have liked to have bigger beds, two sinks and a more storage place? Yes, but it wasn’t too terribly bad. This comes from a Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort fan where we are used to larger rooms, lots of storage and beaches to relax on.
The location couldn’t have been better. It was nice and quiet at the back of the resort and that’s exactly what my husband needed.
Would We Return to Disney’s Pop Century?
Had you asked me this same question when we checked out, I would have answered no. As a matter of fact, we were set to stay at Disney’s Pop Century two more nights but I checked us out early. The reason? Not one, not two, not even three, but four groups checked into buildings and rooms next to us. Some were loud and they were somewhat rude. Had I had small children with me, I would have covered their ears as we passed two of the groups.
After having some time to really stop and think about our stay, I’ve come to the conclusion that we would book another stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The staff was friendly, the food at Everything Pop was good, the room was nice and clean, and our view was great. It was some of the other guests that dampened the excitement. And, that’s not something that Disney has control of.
Having said all that, if a stay at a moderate resort was within my budget, I’d book a stay at one of the four moderate resorts. If I needed a more budget-friendly resort hotel, Disney’s Pop Century would be high on my list of choices.
