Walking through the United Kingdom in Epcot’s World Showcase, you may meet Alice or Mary Poppins, enjoy a nice garden stroll, or see some Dr. Who or Beatles memorabilia. This area is also home to the Rose and Crown. You may have stopped at the Rose and Crown bar for some ice cold beer or a Welsh Dragon before, but have you ever tried the food?
DIStracted Tip: Make your Advanced Dining Reservation 180 days prior to your vacation for Rose and Crown. They also are on the Disney Dining Plan for 1 table service credit.
I started out this meal with a Black and Velvet! It is a delicious mix of Guinness and Cider that’s perfect for a hot summer day!
For our appetizers we started with the Cheese Plate and the House-made Meat Pies.
The Cheese Plate features Stilton, McCall’s Irish Cheddar, and Cotswold Cheese. It was good but not my favorite of the cheese plates we had this trip.
The House-made Meat Pies were delicious with a nice flaky crust. The Picalili (a relish of chopped, pickled vegetables and spices) was very good and loaded with flavor. My husband really enjoyed this!
For our entrée we split the Fish and Chips. My husband considers himself a connoisseur of Fish and Chips and will usually figure out where we can get them on each of our family trips. He loves Raglan Road’s Fish and Chips. These were just as good. Light, flaky, full of flavor!
We were so full after this (thanks to a breakfast at Be Our Guest and an upcoming reservation for California Grill) that we skipped dessert. All in all, the food was good but didn’t wow me. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks. I think next time I would just have some drinks and Fish and Chips at the bar instead of having a full meal in the restaurant.
